What are your thoughts about the academic experience at Sacred Heart?

Sacred Heart provided a great foundation in the fundamentals while nurturing a true love of learning. Our teachers were tremendously supportive of helping us explore the limits of our intellectual curiosity. Their dedication to our learning was always an inspiration to excel and search for more.

What does being a Sacred Heart alumna mean to you?

Being a Sacred Heart alumna means a lasting relationship with the Sacred Heart family. Returning to the school as a parent has been a wonderful experience in renewing those ties and delighting in discovering how the community has grown, strengthened, and excelled over the years.

Why did you choose to attend Sacred Heart?

My sister and I were daughters of the Sacred Heart, as our mom had attended Manhattanville College. The Sacred Heart family had been part of our lives long before we reached school age.

What have you learned about yourself by being a part of the Sacred Heart community?

As a student at Sacred Heart for 12-years, the Sacred Heart community was an integral part of my life experience growing up. In the years since leaving Sacred Heart, and now as a Sacred Heart parent, I have come to realize how much the values of Sacred Heart have played a role in shaping many of my views and beliefs.

How have the values of the Goals & Criteria affected you?

The values instilled by the Goals and Criteria have affected many of the choices I have made. In particular, the focus on giving back to the community instilled in me a strong need for a mission component in my life and my career. It has played an important role in my career decisions which have increasingly sought to integrate a social bottom line into whatever I do.

What special characteristics of Sacred Heart make it feel like a second home?

The constancy and dedication of teachers and staff who devote so much care and thought to building an amazing community is the most important thing that makes it feel like a second home. The sense of history and the wonderful rituals of the Sacred Heart experience provide a continuity of tradition that is always welcoming, reassuring. The strength of the community provides a constant resource to reconnect with friends, values, and faith.
