What does being a student at Sacred Heart mean to you?

It means being part of a place where everyone is nice and supportive. When you are new, everyone tries to be friends with you. The teachers are nice but they can also be funny sometimes. They are always available to help you and are there for you if you need something.

Why did you choose to attend Sacred Heart?

I came to Sacred Heart in Kindergarten, so I can't remember exactly, but I am really happy I came -- it's been one of the best choices of my life.

What have you learned about yourself by being a part of the Sacred Heart community?

At Sacred Heart, I learned that I really like singing. I was in the chorus every year in the Lower School and then this year my mom decided that since I really liked it I can take singing lessons. I am the cook in the musical “Annie” and get to sing. I was also in a concert.

How have the values of the Goals and Criteria affected your time here?

We study the Goals and Criteria and I think they are important. I like the third goal [community service] which we are focusing on this year.  We have a lot of bakes sales and do service projects. Right now we are planning a service project in my homeroom for guiding eye dogs. Last year we did a service project that supported a school in Uganda and the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Goal three is my favorite.

What special characteristics of Sacred Heart make it feel like a second home?

I feel at home here because it is such a comfortable and helpful environment. I like how nice and attentive everyone is here. I love coming to school.

If there was only one word you could use to describe what Sacred Heart means to you, what would it be?

Supportive
