What are your thoughts about your academic experience at Sacred Heart?

My academic experience at Sacred Heart was excellent. The types and caliber of classes offered helped me gain entrance to the top engineering schools in the country, including MIT and John’s Hopkins. The teachers were always helpful and volunteered their time outside of class to answer questions. The academic offerings were very well-rounded and I was prepared in both the sciences and humanities to pursue my collegiate studies.

What does being a Sacred Heart alumna mean to you?

Being a Sacred Heart alumna is so special because I have a family that I can be a part of almost anywhere in the world that I reside. There is a common bond between Sacred Heart alumnae that I haven’t found in any other school that I have attended.

Why did you choose to attend Sacred Heart?

I chose to attend Sacred Heart because of the superior academic curriculum and the ability to continue to have a well-rounded educational experience. I would not only be able to obtain a quality education which would allow me to excel in college, but also be able to resume my athletic career. Sacred Heart allowed me to continue both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics and participate in the track team.

What did you learn about yourself as being a part of the Sacred Heart community?

I have learned that I can excel in any area that I choose. The teachers at Sacred Heart always encouraged excellence and helped build confidence through their helpful and positive attitudes.

How have the values of the Goals and Criteria affected you?

The Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart have strengthened the values that were instilled in me by my parents: the will to pursue education and increase my intellect; the importance in giving back to others who may not have been given the same opportunities I have enjoyed; and the ability to be confident in myself and my choices.

What special characteristics of Sacred Heart make it feel like a second home?

The warmth and sincerity of the people of Sacred Heart make it feel like a second home. Regardless of whether they know you personally, once you are a Sacred Heart alumna you are always welcomed back. Once you return, it feels as though you never left – especially when you reconnect with your former classmates.

Describe the feeling you had on your most recent visit to 91st Street.

My most recent visit to Sacred Heart was to take pictures for this website. Once I walked in the doors, I was welcomed back with open arms. There were so many wonderful memories from my time at Sacred Heart that came flooding back.
