Scholastic Art Awards

25 Ninety-first Street students won 29 awards in the Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Competition, garnering 10 Gold Key awards and 19 Silver Key awards! The art work awarded Gold Keys will go to the national level and be displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the nation's longest running and most prestigious recognition initiative for creative teens, have an impressive legacy dating back to 1923 and a noteworthy roster of past winners including Andy Warhol, Joyce Carol Oates, Ken Burns and Zac Posen.

Congratulations to all of our student artists and their teachers: Sarah Cricco, Emily Palmer, Dan Slabonik, and Visual Art Department Chair Mary Haling.
