Meet Incoming Head of School, Kate Adams
Ninety-first Street proudly welcomed incoming Head of School Kate Adams April 10-11 for her first official visit since accepting the position! Over two busy days, Mrs. Adams met with Dr. Ciancaglini and the Division Heads, spoke with faculty, staff, parents and trustees, and engaged with students both in and out of the classroom. She attended Lower School morning meeting in the Ballroom, Middle School community time in the Theater, and Upper School mass in the Chapel. She also toured the entire school, sitting down for impromptu chats with students across the divisions.
From the moment I walked onto the 91st Street campus, I felt at home,” Mrs. Adams said. “As a Catholic, I am thrilled to embrace the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria and be a part of a spectacular mission-focused community. I understand the importance of an education that empowers girls for bright futures, and as a school leader, I want the students I serve to have every opportunity to develop their gifts so they can make an impact.”
Seamless Transition
Mrs. Adams will officially step into her new role in July of 2023, but she has already begun preparing for her transition to 91st Street and Sacred Heart. Last fall, she attended the Sacred Heart Network conference for Heads and Board Chairs, where she deepened her understanding of Sacred Heart’s educational mission and community. She also meets regularly with Dr. Ciancaglini and Jackie Mitchell to make sure she is fully up-to-date on every aspect of the state of our school. Guided by a shared mission, they are all working together toward a seamless transition as 91st Street continues to build on its rich history of excellence in Sacred Heart education.
Mrs. Adams is an innovative educational leader. Her experience will be invaluable as 91st Street expands its curriculum around the new FutureLab and Sacred Heart Network signature programs.”
