FAQs in our Current Climate.
“Even in these extraordinary times, some things never change, most notably our school's collective dedication to our mission and to each of your daughters.”
-Dr. Joseph J. Ciancaglini, Head of School
While our plan is to have school open in the fall, we are preparing for all possible scenarios. All of us here at Sacred Heart are committed to getting to know you and your family. We hope the information below helps address current questions. Please feel free to contact any of us in the Admissions Office directly at email@example.com.
How can we get a feel for your school without a visit?
Great question! It may be more difficult to get a feel for Sacred Heart without stepping foot on campus, but we hope taking the time to get to know us through our website will give you a sense of our school in action. Some highlights include our Science Renovation Video, What Sacred Heart Means to Me, and our Upper School Video.
How will interviews be conducted?
In the event that we are unable to have interviews conducted in person at Sacred Heart, we will host them virtually. We have held numerous spring interviews via Zoom and they have worked very well.
What testing will be required for the 2020-2021 Admissions season?
We require the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) administered by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) for Grades 2 and up. To register for the “At Home” version of the ISEE, visit ERB.
Grade 1 applicants will be required to participate in an internal Sacred Heart virtual assessment.
For Kindergarten applicants, the Thinking & Engagement Virtual Assessment will be required for the 2020-2021 Admissions season. Learn more about the Kindergarten Virtual Assessment.
For Grade 9 admissions, how will you view an applicant’s pass/fail with narrative reports?
We understand that Grade 7 students were distance learning for their final semester. Please know that we will work together to get to know your daughter, which includes reviewing her first semester Grade 7 transcript, first semester Grade 8, and most importantly, her teacher recommendations.
What are your academic courses and co-curricular offerings?
To get a better understanding of our academic requirements and offerings by division, please view our Lower School Overview, Middle School Overview or Upper School Overview as well as our detailed curriculum guide.
What are some signature programs at Sacred Heart?
We are excited to share some of our signature programs: Global Studies (Visiting Students Program and Wall Street to Silicon Valley Program), Service Learning, Capstone Program, FutureLab and College Counseling.
Does Sacred Heart offer financial aid?
Sacred Heart is proud of its robust financial aid budget. In addition to our regular financial aid, we have raised separate funds to help bridge families impacted by COVID-19. Please visit our tuition and affordability page to learn more about the financial aid application process and requirements.
