Affording a Sacred Heart education.
At Sacred Heart, we know that choosing an independent school education for your child requires a substantial financial commitment. Our Financial Assistance program is designed to make this experience financially accessible to all families and it reaches beyond tuition. It is our goal to have your daughter and your family participate in all areas of a Sacred Heart education and the school community.
The following initiatives are subsidized as part of each family’s financial assistance package:
- Technology needs for students in all divisions.
- After School/Extended Care:
- After School and Extended Care programming for Lower School students.
- After School electives are offered free for all students in Middle School.
- Bus Transportation
- Summer camp programs for Lower and Middle School students
- Private instrument lessons
- Service and athletics trips
- College applications and standardized testing
- Visiting Students Program and Exploring Entrepreneurship program
- Yearbook
- Parents Association (PA) sponsored events
Our commitment to know each applicant as an individual is reflected in our Financial Assistance application process. We are here to thoughtfully understand each family's unique circumstances, and we encourage applicants to provide as much information as possible to ensure transparency throughout the application process. We invite you to reach out to Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management, Liz Cavanaugh (ecavanaugh@cshnyc.org), for a confidential conversation at any time during the process to provide information and clarification regarding your financial aid application.
Sacred Heart is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need. Need-based financial aid awards are offered to meet the difference between what a family can afford and the cost of tuition. These are annual grants that do not need to be repaid.
Financial aid awards are calculated based on various factors from the information families share in the application, including, but not limited to, income, assets, family size, and expenses.
Families receiving financial assistance from Sacred Heart must reapply for assistance each year. If there is little change to the family's overall circumstances, families can expect grants to be renewed at similar levels each year. Contributions towards tuition may increase proportionally to Sacred Heart's annual tuition increases. If your family's need increases or decreases significantly, Sacred Heart will adjust the financial aid award accordingly.
Sacred Heart’s financial assistance program supports families from Kindergarten through Grade 12. While we are not able to extend aid to our Pre-Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten families, we welcome a conversation about planning for the years ahead. Families who enroll at Sacred Heart without financial assistance are not eligible to apply until their second full year of enrollment, and any qualifying award would then take effect the following school year.
