Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in DC

Five Upper School Students and two faculty members participated in the Annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in Washington DC from November 12th through the 14th. The 2016 theme was "Mercy in Action". The five students from our 10th and 11th grades joined a group of approximately 2,000 university & high school students from around the country uniting "together in the context of social justice and solidarity to learn, reflect, pray, network, and advocate together. It is a place where people are empowered, re-energized, inspired, challenged, and supported by a community that sees faith and justice integrally linked."

On the final day, 1,400 people gathered outside Union Station for a Public Witness followed by meetings with regional Senators & Representatives. Our girls joined students from Fordham Prep, Notre Dame, Cristo Rey, Loyola and Regis and shared a presentation and engaged in conversation with Senator Gillibrand's aides on Immigration Reform and Criminal Justice Reform.
