HerStory 2017

Once again, the fourth grade class amazed parents, faculty and friends with HerStory! One of the highlights of the fourth grade curriculum, Herstory is an interdisciplinary project combining library research, writing, art, public speaking, drama, and technology in which each student researches a prominent woman in a field such as science, art, politics or sports. Over the course of two months, students write about and create a multi-media portrait of their subject and use the iPad to animate their portrait and record themselves speaking in character. On the day of the presentation, the girls dress up as their subjects and one by one "introduce" themselves in character in the Theater. They then move to the Ballroom to share their written work, collage portraits and animated iPad projects with the rest of the very impressed community.

Congratulations to all of our fourth graders and their talented and dedicated teachers!
