Upper Schoolers used design thinking and teamwork to develop solutions to social problems in “Expeditionaries,” a social entrepreneurship intensive over MLK weekend.
Over four days, students from 91st Street and five other NYC schools worked on projects that promote creative thinking and improving society. On the final day, they gave a presentation that was nothing short of “outstanding,” said 91st Street’s Director of Service Learning, Michael Chung.
“Our students also bonded and became a community of change-makers by listening, supporting, and pushing one another to think outside the box,” he said. “By listening to these young people, I have hope for our future.”
Expeditionaries is run by Basecamp, a company that aims to help schools deepen their mission and prepare students for the future through innovation, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
