Third graders charmed their audience of parents, teachers and friends with their performance of The Night Before Christmas, an original 91^st Street production written by Lower School music teacher Stephanie Pakowitz. Dressed in Christmas pajamas, students reenacted the tale of the nativity, played instruments, and performed songs and rounds to uncover the true meaning of Christmas before inviting the delighted audience to join in singing Christmas carol favorites. After the show, Head of School Dr. Ciancaglini thrilled third graders when he decreed they could stay in their pajamas – ahem, their costumes – for the rest of the school day.
