91st Street Celebrates Rentrée

The 91st Street community came together in spirit rather than in person today for Rentrée, the annual ceremony celebrating the start of a new school year at Sacred Heart.

Usually an all-school gathering at Brick Church, Rentrée took place in the 91st Street Chapel this year. Seniors joined in from the Chapel, and the rest of the student body participated from their pod classrooms. Students learning from home also participated remotely.

Excerpts from Life at the Sacred Heart, aka the little red book, were read to each division, and grades 4, 8, and 12, the oldest grades in the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, were acknowledged as the school’s leaders. Seniors received special recognition as they were each called by name and given a white rose. Seniors also received the class rings they should have received last spring, when the school was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
