February Fury 2023

For the first time since COVID, 91st Street held its annual February Fury Pep Rally at the Sacred Heart Athletics and Wellness Center. Students, families, faculty and staff packed the stands of 406 to show their support for the school's winter sports teams in advance of several games happening later that evening. The pep rally kicked off as Middle School cheerleaders lined the way and the Basketball, Squash, Swimming, and Track & Field teams stormed onto the court while music and cheering filled the gym.

Laughter and cheers filled the court as faculty and students participated in a number of friendly competitions, including baggy-clothes relay races and a basketball knockout game. The 91st Street dance team then thrilled the audience with a choreographed dance to a mash-up of pop songs! After the pep rally wrapped up, spectators spent the evening cheering on JV and Varsity Basketball, Swimming, and Squash, as they took on The Marymount School.

“It was great to see so much energy and community spirit at 406. Our teams delivered strong, aggressive performances in front of packed stands as they were cheered on by our Cardinal fans,” said Paul Culff, Head of Athletics and Wellness at Sacred Heart. “We had dominant wins in JV and Varsity Basketball as well as Varsity Swimming, which goes to show the force we can create when all our supporters come together. It provides great motivation for the rest of the season and hope for the future!”

Thank you to everyone who came out and filled the stands to cheer on our winter athletes. Go Cardinals!
