Forensics Finishes the Regular Season Strong!

The forensics team has wrapped its first (and last, hopefully) virtual New York Catholic Forensics League (NYCFL) season! The season began in total uncertainty. How do you reproduce live public speaking competitions online? The volunteer NYCFL executive board, of which Ms. Ablon is a member, feared technical limitations and difficulties would undermine efforts and limit student access to the activity.

Oh how wrong they were! This season the NYCFL ran 14 synchronous, online, day-long public speaking contests with over 2100 students and 1000 judges participating. During this unsettled season, the league engineered a stable platform to maintain inter-school community, lift student voices, viewpoints and personalities, and build leadership through speech. Read on for 91st Street’s FOF-tastic end-of-season results!
